His experience includes estimating, planning and scheduling, change detection and processing, cost reporting and forecasting, flow sheet development, specification preparation, proposal evaluation, purchasing, expediting, and compliance with contract. Mr. Nabors is adept with software applications including Aspen Capital Cost Estimator, Aspen In-Plant Cost Estimator, Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, and Word, and Primavera SureTrak, in addition to using R.S. Means, Richardson Process Plant Estimating Standards, and preparing estimates manually.

Independent Contractor

  • Estimated, scheduled, and managed small process projects in DE, IL, and PA
  • Estimated large projects including one in Mexico ($0.8 billion), two in China ($0.5 billion each), three in Canada ($0.8 and $1billion), and one with eight alternatives, each over $2 billion
  • Conducted estimating and project control seminars

Project Controls Manager, FMC Corporation

  • Exercised project control responsibility for all major capital projects
    • Evaluated projects with respect to economic justification, cost, schedule, and value
    • Visited and evaluated sites and estimated projects for Brazil, Canada, China, England, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore
    • Conducted project control visits for $120 million project in Argentina
  • Closed out a cancelled environmental project
    • Expedited closing 372 purchase orders and contracts
    • Scoped and planned closing and securing project
    • Oversaw development of a database of marketable equipment and materials from $200 million of recent projects
  • Managed project controls on a $120 million environmental project
    • Joined project at 42% completion
    • Immediately corrected percent complete to a higher value, eliminating the need for increased work force and overtime
    • Lowered forecast final cost
    • Identified logic flaws in schedule that were hiding potential problems

Mr. Nabors holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, and a Master of Business Administration (Finance) degree from New York University Graduate School of Business Administration, New York City, NY. He has served as instructor in estimating, cost control, cost reporting, and planning and scheduling for the Saturday Continuing Education Construction Management Certificate Program of the Small Business Development Center, School of Business and Management, at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA.
