After years on a new capital project to specify a new piece of rotating equipment, go through bid evaluations, OEM coordination and Pre-Inspection meetings and following the entire fabrication, often the last step is a factory acceptance test.  And it is an important step, as this is the last chance to confirm everything over the entire course of the design, fabrication and assembly of the equipment has been done correctly to help ensure a successful installation, start-up and commissioning.

Based on our Becht Machinery team coming mostly from large world class operating company technical careers, factory acceptance and performance testing align well with our experience base.  Not only does our staff have vast experience in the various API and ASME Standards, Recommended Practices and Codes, but we have the hands on experience from witnessing many factory acceptance and performance tests around the world.  The Becht Machinery Division stands ready to support this very important step with our wealth of experience.

Becht Engineering has developed a reputation as one of the premier providers of Design-By-Analysis services.  We have a deep reservoir of staff that perfrom finite element analysis using commercial programs such as ABAQUS, ANSYS, SolidWorks and products of Paulin Research Group.  Types of analysis include linear and nonlinear analysis, stress, heat transfer and dynamics including seismic.

Given the many analytical tools available, we are able to choose the most efficient and cost-effective tool for the task at hand; for example, we frequently use non-linear analysis to develop more efficient equipment designs and/or to demonstrate that existing equipment is fit for service. Our extensive code expertise enables us to provide authoritative interpretations of the analysis results. Our experts include such frequently published engineers as Greg Hollinger, Trevor Seipp, and Dr. Charles Becht.
