Software & Solutions

Becht is engaged in meeting the engineering modeling and software needs of the Process and Power Industry through the development of proprietary software and custom applications. Our proprietary software applications include API 579-1/ASME FFS-1, 2016 edition compliant, Fitness-for-Service (FFS) evaluations, Risk-Based Work Selection (RBWS) and Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) planning.

Additionally, Becht is available to provide custom engineering analysis and software solutions to our clients.

Reliability Technologies

In today’s petro-chemical and refining industries, sustained long term reliability of facilities is a key to profitability and competitiveness. History shows that differences in Operating Expenses between best-in-class refineries, and poor performers, can be as much as 20-30MM$/YR. The cost of unreliability also impacts on lost opportunity via supply disruptions.  Safety and Reliability are inter-dependent.  Becht Engineering has the expertise and tools to successfully help clients with plant-wide, unit-wide, or equipment specific reliability issues. These proprietary technologies are documented in Becht’s Reliability Technology Manual. These technologies have been successfully implemented across North American and Global facilities including South America, Australia, Russia, Middle East, Asia and many other locations.

Process Consulting

Becht has Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with experience in virtually every refining, petrochemical, and chemical processes.   Becht’s SME’s expertise includes equipment specific (e.g. heat exchanger), unit-specific (e.g. Crude Unit), and technology-specific (e.g. Hydroprocessing) knowledge gained over long careers typically with owner/operator corporations.  Becht routinely combines the services of our experts to solve unique problems that may include multiple facets.  We have capabilities including feasibility studies, process design, and a broad range of consulting services.

Most  SMEs have worked in premier owner-operator organizations giving Becht a unique perspective of problem-solving in an operating environment.  The Becht approach enables us to evaluate problems from an owner’s perspective and focus on providing a solution that works the first time.
