Fixed Equipment/Mechanical Integrity Expert and Process Engineer
Matthew Caserta is a registered professional engineer in the states of Ohio and Texas and has over 15 years of a wide breadth of engineering experience in chemical processing, oil refining, and consulting. Mr. Caserta's varied background provides unique insights into process interactions, equipment reliability and corrosion and materials concerns. The past 10 years of Mr. Caserta's career has focused on fixed equipment reliability
and inspection, as well as Mechanical Integrity. He has been involved in risk-based inspection assessments, mechanical integrity audits, and process engineering. He has a strong knowledge of damage mechanisms through practical experience. He has experience as a Chief Inspector planning and executing turnarounds, supervising day-to-day inspection needs, and managing projects.
Mr. Caserta also spent over 5 years as an engineering consultant. His accomplishments included over 50 risk-based inspection implementations on multiple different refinery process units, developing mechanical integrity audit protocols, procedure development, and inspection planning. He was also an API certified trainer for the API 580/581 training course. Mr. Caserta has traveled to refineries and petrochemical facilities throughout North America.
Mr. Caserta joins the Pono Division of Becht and is heavily involved with our Corrosion Control Document (CCD) implementation process, including RBI efforts. Additionally, he is involved with mechanical integrity management projects. Lastly, he looks to expand Pono’s client base and expertise into the petrochemical and chemical industry, by expanding our group of metallurgical and corrosion experts, specific to those industries.
