Mr. Chen has over 30 years of experience in mechanical engineering design and analysis. In the structural area, Yaofeng's work ranges from the application of finite element mechanical and thermal stress analyses, and a wide variety of design and problem solving in the areas of pressure vessels and related mechanical equipment, to the analysis and design of steel and reinforced concrete structures. In his work, Yaofeng utilizes the latest computer software in 2D and 3D model based design such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Yaofeng's significant areas of expertise
include piping stress analysis aimed at the design of new piping systems, revamps and the solution of static and dynamic piping problems such as fluid transient analysis and piping vibration analysis.
He is the company's expert on field data acquisition and data analysis that are often required in solving piping vibration problems. He has completed many piping projects from inception through final design for piping connected to load sensitive equipment such as pumps, turbines and compressors.
Yaofeng joined Becht Engineering in January 1991 after graduating from Lehigh University, where he received his Master's Degree in Structural Engineering and a Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics. Yaofeng received his Bachelor of Science degree from the National Taiwan University. Prior to joining Becht, he worked at Taiwan Power Company and Foster Wheeler Energy Corporation. Through the years, Yaofeng has worked on a wide variety of projects and has provided technical consulting in both the structural and mechanical areas for the power, petrochemical and refining industries.
