Case Study – Fiber Wrapped Piping

Situation: A client found leaking fiber wrapped piping on an offshore platform.

Information: Becht evaluated the piping for static loads, fluid transients, and vibration.

Results: Becht identified vibration as the driving mechanism for one of the failures and erosion as the mechanism for the second location.

The RCFA allowed for appropriate design and process changes to prevent failures from occurring in the future.
