Midstream Debottlenecking – Optimization of Investment
Situation: A pipeline and storage network debottlenecking assessment and variance reporting was required. Also, the client needed to evaluate potential future infrastructure projects for meeting increased utilization of pipelines and a terminal system.
Action: Becht Provided a tool set and linked model to a file that reflects the schedules, configuration, and operational considerations. We tested the impact of stochastic events and developed reporting KPIs for the pipelines & terminals.
Moreover, the tool set assessed the impact of infrastructure changes on the pipeline network. Other key uses of the model include evaluations of new tanks, connectivity, tank allocation, and pipeline rate changes.
Results: With this new model the client could assess pipeline & terminal network debottlenecking. Becht then trained the client team on use of model.
