Our client developed an onstream leak at a critical catalyst withdrawal nozzle in an FCCU.
Within 2 days of being contacted Becht developed a repair compliant with ASME PCC-2 that would be qualified to run until the next turnaround.
Furthermore, Becht developed a long-term solution redesign of the configuration to reduce the thermal stresses at the connection so that subsequent failures would not occur.
Becht was able to help the client avoid having to shutdown the Unit by developing a Code compliant onstream repair that could be safely installed. Furthermore, Becht developed a long-term solution to prevent future cracking.
