Bharat ‘Bob’ Shah has over 30 years process engineering experience in liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants, LNG regasification terminals, outside battery limits (OSBL)/utilities and offsites, upstream oil/gas, power plant/cogeneration facilities. His experience includes: • Represented owner’s interest in contractors’ offices for reimbursable cost and lump sum turnkey (LSTK) projects of various sizes involving multinational teams. o Developed, defined, and clarified scopes. o Monitored progress, schedules, and budgets o Ensured compliance with regulations, industry standards, and scope, and followed up for scope changes and change orders o Identified, directed, and reviewed studies, coordinated interfaces with company specialists, operations and numerous third parties o Reviewed and approved contractor’s key calculations, specifications, and drawings. Followed up through conclusions, resolutions, and implementation of all comments. Provided support for regulatory activities o Conducted audits of third-party process designs for various facilities o Prepared and presented formal reports to the upper management o Mentored and trained junior engineers • Carried out process engineering and systems engineering activities including: o Defined scopes o Developed design bases, process design criteria, owner/licensor interfaces o Made heat and material balances o Produced process flow diagrams (PFDs), material selection diagrams (MSDs), material composition declarations (MCDs), piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs) o Develop control philosophies, cause, and effect diagrams o Perform safety evaluations o Develop equipment sizing/specifications and pricing o Conduct hazard and operability analyses (HAZOPs) and process hazard analyses (PHA) o Perform pump and hydraulic calculations o Produce instrument data sheets, battery limit condition definitions o Interface with third parties, owner specialists o Produce catalyst and chemical summaries, piping line lists, startup, and operating manuals o Conduct vendor bid evaluations, field check-out walk-downs for plant acceptance o Supply startup planning and assistance and performance testing pre-commissioning and construction support Mr. Shah holds a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A & I University, (now Texas A & M), Kingsville, TX. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
