As Becht Industrial Groups enters 2023 approaching 1 Million Safe Manhours, our efforts to adapt and grow continue to demand innovation and creative approach to encourage our work execution teams to evaluate safety. Safety is a mindset, and a Safety System needs to beckon thought and inward evaluation that speaks to project teams and supervisors alike. Becht Industrial Group is partnering in creating a mindful approach with simple but thought-provoking ideals.

Becht Industrial Group (BIG) believes safety is as easy as 1, 2, 3. That’s why we built our safety system around our BIG3 questions for keeping people safe. By asking 3 questions; “What am I doing?”, “What could go wrong?”, and “What am I going to do about it?” before every task, out team identifies hazards and mitigation steps before any work begins.

• B3ME focuses on the individual. Think last minute risk assessment.
• B3WE focuses on the crew. Think JSA.
• B3SEE focuses on a coworker. Think of it as an observation.

These tools, along with the B3QRY (Incident investigation) are the main tools in the BIG3 system.

Each of these tools, regardless of what they may be called, rely on 3 fundamental questions, or the BIG3. “What am I doing?”, “What could go wrong?”, and “What am I going to do about it?”.

So, we truly believe safety is as easy as 1, 2, 3!
