Development of Consistent Training Standards and Curricula for Greek Petrochemical Complex

Operator Curriculum

Becht Human Performance Group assisted our client in developing a consistent training standard and training curriculum for an 800-employee workforce at a Greek refinery and petrochemical complex.

In the past, several plant incidents had been tied back to poor employee performance and inconsistent or non-standardized training. With support and gap analysis from the Becht team, the client determined that their existing training for all refinery personnel was outdated and inefficient.

The Becht team assessed the training needs for all site personnel, including basic training, operations, maintenance, instrument and electrical, inspection, and technical (engineering) personnel. The Becht team delivered career roadmaps for operations, maintenance, and technical personnel, as well as developing fully aligned training standards to maintain consistency in level of training across all three areas. The client hired a training staff based on Becht recommendations and is now utilizing our training methodology for all Operations, Maintenance, and Technical personnel, leading to increased plant safety and a more efficient verification process. Becht expertise across disciplines enabled our team to develop clear, effective, and standardized training expectations for the client’s workforce.

Each year businesses lose approximately $13.5M per 1,000 employees due to ineffective training. The Becht training team can help design focused, effective, and engaging training for your workforce. Reach out to learn more about how the Becht team can support your project.
