Monika Ko has 15 years’ experience as a materials and corrosion engineer involved in asset integrity management in operating plants as well as consulting in the oil and gas, petrochemical and power industries. Experienced in failure and root cause investigation, material selection, fitness for service, identification of damage mechanisms and development of corrosion management programs for static equipment and pipelines, implementation of integrity operating windows as well as risk-based assessment and inspection.

- Site technical authority in corrosion, run and maintain support to deliver reliable production.
- Conducted gap analysis, change of service review and life extension of aging asset to achieve required levels of safety and lifecycle performance.
- Responsible for site regulatory compliance and certification for onshore and offshore equipment.
- Lead multidisciplinary RCAs and implementation of site corrosion and integrity programs (CCD, IOWs, RBI, chemical treatments, IP/MP, CUI etc.).
- Lead several high value improvement projects including incorporating digitalisation initiative along with inspection and risk assessment in management of heat exchangers with sitewide impact.
- Asset integrity management implementation with a focus on corrosion management for CO2 EOR facilities – Texas, USA.
- Failure mode and effect analysis and corrosion management for transmission pipelines – Queensland, Australia.
- Asset integrity review for improvements of plant performance for acid gas treating unit – Singapore.
Monika received her Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Auckland, NZ (2008) and her PhD in CO2 Corrosion of Pipeline Steel from the University of Auckland, NZ (2014). She is fluent in English and Indonesian.
