The Becht Team

Vince Golden
Vince Golden has worked in the petrochemical and refining industry for 11+ years in several engineering and supervision roles with a focus on Mechanical Integrity and Risk-Based Inspection (RBI).
Mr. Golden was introduced to the concept of RBI after hiring on with an asset integrity service provider at the start of his career in 2013. As a Project Analyst and eventually a Project Lead, he implemented and evergreened PCMS-based RBI programs for multiple sites in the fertilizer, acids, and ammonia industry while also providing technical support to several refining implementations.
In wanting to expand his technical foundation in engineering and industry practices, Mr. Golden pursued a Mechanical Engineering Role in 2015 with PBF Energy’s Chalmette Refinery. Over 4 years, he supported day-to-day operations and outages in addition to multiple major turnarounds in both mechanical and process engineering roles. Eventually in 2019, his early-career proficiencies with PCMS led him to an internal Equipment Integrity Engineer opportunity concentrated on migrating a Meridium-based RBI program into PCMS. Mr. Golden spent two years developing and executing PCMS database management processes to maintain fixed equipment inspection plans and history effectively and efficiently. This included a PCMS-RBI program that actively utilized calculated risk to schedule on-stream or outage required inspection along with stewarding risk-justified repair plans.
For his last year-and-a-half at PBF Energy Chalmette, Mr. Golden led Mechanical Integrity efforts of the refinery as Inspection Supervisor, managing a department of 40+ direct and indirect inspection personnel. He resultingly learned the intricacies of balancing a sustainable inspection budget with the everyday resources needed to mitigate risk embedded within the facility.
Within the Becht RBI Group, Mr. Golden has provided RBI revalidation, implementation, and health check expertise as an RBI Analyst and most recently in his RBI Team Lead role.
Mr. Golden graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and is based in Delight, AR.
