Jeffrey Morris
Jeffrey Morris has 15 years’ experience in the refining industry. He began his career as a refinery equipment inspector and has a strong background in Risk-Based Inspection implementation and IDMS management. He has used his programming and data management skills to perform RBI implementations and reassessments efficiently and accurately.
Prior to joining Becht, Mr. Morris served as Senior Refinery Inspector and PCMS Database Administrator at the Valero Memphis Refinery. He currently holds API 510 and API 570 inspector certifications. Mr. Morris has an extensive knowledge of PCMS and its calculations. He has been involved with turnaround planning and execution. He as experience performing mechanical integrity audits. Mr. Morris also has experience with the following refinery special emphasis programs: soil-to-air interface, deadleg inspection, small bore piping inspection, HF Alky flange inspection, and sulfidation.
In his role as a Senior Refinery Inspector, Mr. Morris was responsible for managing all inspection programs, schedules, and inspection work requests for his assigned units. Over this time, he was assigned to the following units: Crude, Cryogenic, Hydrogen, Flare Gas Recovery, Saturated Gas, Tank Farm, and Utilities. He led multiple new unit RBI implementations and RBI revalidations in collaboration with outside engineering resources.
In his role as the PCMS Database Administrator, Mr. Morris was responsible for the overall implementation and quality of the IDMS. He was responsible for developing, writing, and implementing IDMS Procedures. He led (4) AutoCAD personnel within the inspection department that were responsible to keep all the inspection circuitized P&IDs, equipment drawings, and inspection isometrics up to date. To accurately complete this, he developed an application to manage all drawing revisions and prioritize the workload. This application also indexed the AutoCAD drawing information for quality checks against other data systems. Mr. Morris utilized different reporting applications to publish inspection metrics to corporate and local stakeholders.
Mr. Morris worked with corporate leadership to analyze data differences between site IDMS standard tables. He also worked to develop PowerBI reports to help with a data standardization effort and reporting the percentage of completion.
Mr. Morris has utilized drones and photogrammetry to create a GIS model linked to live IDMS data. He also worked to develop the HF Alky flange inspection program and applications to support data gathering during turnaround execution. He created an inspection turnaround tracking database for reporting inspection task completion percentages and remaining punch list items during execution.
Mr. Morris is based in Hernando, MS.
